Pre-License Salesperson Course
Course Description:
45 Hours - Topics to be covered: ownership, encumbrances, agency, license law, contracts, transfer, land descriptions, fair housing, appraisal, finance, and math.
Course Schedule:
We presently do not have a class scheduled; however, we anticipate offering a class in the Spring, 2008. For further information, or to register for the class, please call our DeKalb office at 815-756-1691.
Attendance:
Attendance is required at all classes. A student may have one (1) excused absence only! Missing two (2) or more classes will result in course failure.
Terms of Payment:
A $50 registration fee is due upon course enrollment. Balance is due on or before the first class session. The total amount due is $365.00. There is a $25 fee for returned checks. Make checks or money orders payable to Illinois Academy of Real Estate.
Cancellation and Refunds:
Cancellations prior to start of first class will be 100% minus book fees. Cancellation after the start of the first class and before the second class, will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee and book fees. No refunds will be granted after the start of the second class.

Illinois Licensing Requirements:
Each applicant shall be at least 21 years of age, be of good moral character, have a high school education or GED and successfully complete state required education.
The minimum age of 21 years shall be waived for any applicant for a salesperson’s license who has attained the age of 18 and can provide evidence of at least 4 semesters of post-secondary study with a major emphasis on real estate courses in a school approved by the OBRE.
Applicants for a salesperson license shall complete an approved course of at least 45 hours.
Broker applicants shall complete 120 hours of approved course work, 45 hours of which shall be the 45 hours required to obtain a salesperson’s license, 15 hours of brokerage administration, 15 hours of contracts and conveyances, 15 hours of advanced principles and two 15 hour approved course work.
Applicants with a valid sales license are required to complete an additional 75 hours of approved course work.
Applicants who are currently admitted to practice law by the Illinois Supreme Court and in active standing are exempt from the educational requirements.
